Challenge

Designing an incentive program to celebrate Alcon’s top performers came with unique complexities. The initiative spanned four distinct trips—Masters Club, President’s Club, President’s Club Pharma, and President’s Club Vision Care —each needing its own identity while still delivering equal luxury and excellence. 

With more than 340 attendees traveling from different regions, Brightspot’s travel team managed staggered arrivals, varied departure points, and layered itineraries. Virgin Gorda’s remote location added to the challenge, requiring precise coordination of air, boat, and ground transfers across multiple airports and customs checkpoints. On top of that, unpredictable island weather meant building backup plans that felt seamless when put into action. 

Budget discipline was another key factor. The client wanted a once-in-a-lifetime experience that reflected exclusivity, personalization, and sustainability, but all within defined financial parameters. To make that possible, our team leaned on trusted vendor relationships, shared resources across programs, and focused on delivering high-impact moments that made the biggest impression. 

Beyond flawless execution, the program needed to inspire loyalty and fuel future performance. Every detail, from immersive excursions to meaningful gifting, had to balance indulgence with intentionality so attendees felt not only celebrated but motivated to reach the next level. 

Solution

To meet the program’s complexity, a dedicated onsite command center managed communications, while a custom itinerary app and SMS alerts kept attendees updated in real time. This made it possible to reroute sailing excursions or adjust schedules due to weather without disrupting the guest experience. 

Travel coordination required precision. Brightspot partnered with Rosewood Little Dix Bay and Sunlinc, a local DMC, to choreograph every transfer by air, boat, and ground. Staggered arrivals were synchronized through private catamarans, and water taxis, creating a smooth VIP journey across multiple airports. 

Budget was maximized by leveraging vendor partnerships and shared infrastructure across all four programs. Our relationship with Rosewood unlocked value-added inclusions such as spa enhancements and flexible venue usage, while curated menus featuring local, seasonal ingredients reduced both costs and waste. Shared frameworks for transportation, dining, and venues created efficiency, while personalized touches like bespoke room drops, $100 “Beach Bucks” for artisan shopping, and tailored excursions ensured each trip felt unique. 

Through meticulous planning, resourceful partnerships, and thoughtful program design, the experience not only overcame its challenges but delivered outstanding results.

Gifting Opportunities

A creative gifting strategy elevates and relates to the travel experience, and with participants living the island life, what better way to gift than with waterproof belt bags, custom Nike hats, beach blankets, mini Bluetooth speakers, custom sun shirts, and framed couple photos to take the memories home? 

One of the most talked-about highlights of this incentive trip was a gifting experience unlike any other. Instead of sending attendees off-property to shop, Brightspot brought the island’s artistry directly to them. Local artisans transformed the hotel into a vibrant mini marketplace, giving participants an immersive shopping spree filled with color, culture, and creativity. Each guest received “Beach Bucks” to spend on their favorite finds, adding a playful and interactive twist to the experience. From hand-designed fabrics and beach bags to locally sourced bath salts, handcrafted soaps, painted coconut bowls, island-inspired sauces, cultural paintings, and even small-batch island liquors, every item reflected the unique spirit of the destination. 

The result was more than just a gifting moment; it was a cultural connection. Attendees left with meaningful, locally made treasures and unforgettable memories, making this personalized gifting experience one of the standout highlights of the entire program. 

During the trip, a photography bingo challenge encouraged attendees to capture memories around the hotel’s luxurious property, with GoPros awarded to the bingo winners. At the beach, Brightspot customized individual picnics based on each attendee’s drink preference, and a custom water bottle sticker bar gave attendees the chance to stay refreshed while adding a fun, personal touch. Guests selected from a variety of colorful bottles and decorated them with a wide assortment of destination-inspired stickers.
